Divination, Chance and Character: tools for the fantastical extension of sensibility, 2016–ongoing

I made these annotated drawings as a way of taking stock of everything that had been initiated in the making of my speculative video, On the Validity of Illusion (and its attractions). In the making of On the Validity, I made numerous props to inhabit multiple scenarios. I wanted to understand what I had done. What the different props and scenarios meant and where they were pointing to in terms of both materials and research. Later projects like Blinking and other Involuntary Portals and Monologues: patriarchal traditions and the New Age, were first pinpointed by these drawings.
