More of a machine than a sculpture, Blinking and Other Involuntary Portals comprises two mechanized blinking devices that make eye contact across the room through a live video feed embedded in a double headed teleprompter apparatus. The blinking is mechanized by solar powered electromagnetic pendulums. It is the first scenario developed from ongoing project: Divination, Chance and Character: tools for the fantastical extension of sensibility.
